Christchurch to Mt Cook

Via Lake Tekapo

sunny 26 °C

After a wonderful breakfast cooked by our personal chef Walter, the driving began today!
Christchurch to Mount Cook via Lake Tekapo.
You will be pleased to know we did not see any foreigners driving in the wrong side of the road. There are signs everywhere to remind them to 'drive on the left'! 😳
We stopped at The Tin Shed - merino wool product shop on the way to Geraldine to have a bit to eat.
All the way to the MacKenzie county it was overcast and Mel was concerned we would not see Mt Cook- well.... how wrong was she! Driving down the hill into Lake Tekapo was just stunning and the weather stayed like that all day.
We stopped at Tekapo for some photos then carried on to Mt Cook.
Went for two walks, a short one to the mountaineers monument then a longer, steeper one to the Tasman Glacier viewing spot. Wow!!
The photos do not do any of it justice but enjoy anyways.
😊
