Greymouth to Christchurch

Via Punakaiki

sunny 20 °C

Today we woke up to clear skies in Greymouth 😱
We saw Mt Cook in the distance and the sun was amazing!
We visited my old house and my grandmothers old house. We also visited my grandfathers grave and wow what a beautifully kept cemetery. We placed a rock we had collected and some flowers on the grave and admired the place. The cemetery lawn mower man was so helpful and he even looked up Walters plot for us in the handwritten book and took us down and showed us some of his family plots. Such a lovely man.
We went to the pancake rocks and on the way back we helped a man who is walking the country for charity and his trailer got blown off the road and down the side of a cliff. He was ever so grateful and a man with a ute drove him to the next town.
My grandma always spoke of Coal Creek Falls, so in her honour we went for a walk to see the falls. So beautiful and such a lovely walk!
We made a rock face in the moss on a tree just to mess with the next walkers.... especially the ones who are picking the special mushrooms we saw! 😃🤣
Making our way over Arthur's Pass we saw that there had been a dump of snow on some of the mountains!
Such a nice drive back to Christchurch!
